THE STORY OF HARRY REID

( “How a second-rate politician can become a multimillionaire.”)

In a 1998 real estate deal put together by Jay Brown, a former casino lawyer and longtime friend, Harry Reid purchased two undeveloped residential-property lots on Las Vegas’ rapidly growing outskirts for approximately $400,000. Reid bought one of the parcels on his own and the second one jointly with Brown. In 2001 Reid transferred his interests at a value of $400,000 to a limited liability corporation created by Jay Brown, but he never disclosed the transfer on his annual public ethics report, nor did he inform Congress that he now held a stake in Brown's company. In 2004 Brown's company, having negotiated with local officials to rezone the property for a shopping center (Rory Reid, Harry’s son, had been elected to the Clark County Commission in 2002), sold the land to other developers in a deal that earned Reid $1.1 million -- a $700,000 pre-tax profit on his initial investment. Reid falsely reported the transaction to Congress as a personal land sale.

In 2001 Reid paid cash for a $750,000 condominium at the Washington, D.C. Ritz-Carlton where he resides. When he subsequently gave Christmas bonuses (in 2002, 2004, and 2005) to the doorman and other support staff at his building, he used $3,300 in campaign donations – a violation of federal election law. Reid’s campaign falsely listed the bonuses as campaign “salary” expenditures for two of the years in question, and as a “contribution” for the other year. When news of Reid’s misappropriation of campaign funds became public in 2006, the Senator’s office said the listing as "salary" had been a clerical error. When questioned, Reid announced, “I am reimbursing the campaign from my own pocket to prevent this issue from being used in the current campaign season to deflect attention from Republican failures.” Oh, okay!

In a $286 billion federal transportation bill passed by Congress in 2005, Harry secured $300 million in earmarks for projects in Nevada, including $18 million to fund the construction of a bridge spanning the Colorado River. On the Arizona side of that new bridge, Reid had already purchased 160 acres of undeveloped land. The building of that new bridge caused the value of Reid’s property to skyrocket. Coincidence? You decide.

Between 2002 and 2006, Harry gained monumental government concessions on behalf of a powerful Nevada land developer, Harvey Whittemore, who planned to build thousands of homes and numerous golf courses on 43,000 acres of barren land in an area an hour northeast of Las Vegas. Currently, the land had a bunch of federal restrictions on its use:: One-fourth of it was off-limits to developers because of federal protections for an “endangered” species of desert tortoise that dwelt there; another one-fourth was government-owned and was subject to a federal power-line right of way; and the territory overall was rife with streams and washes that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had designated as crucial to the health of the desert’s ecosystem, and was therefore generally off-limits to construction.

But, and thanks mainly to Harry’s intercession, the Bureau of Land Management agreed to relocate the tortoises to an adjacent federal preserve, thereby opening that portion of Coyote Springs to developers. One obstacle out of the way. The second obstacle was easy: in 2002 Harry inserted some obscure provisions into a land-management bill that relocated the aforementioned power corridor, thereby apparently freeing Whittemore to build on the 10,500-acre parcel he coveted. But the Senate's Energy and Natural Resources Committee balked at the deal, and Reid was forced to negotiate an alternate arrangement where Whittemore was permitted to purchase the land at a fair market rate, then the government would relocated the power corridor. Finally, in 2005 Reid and fellow Nevada congressional member John Ensign used their combined influence with the EPA to remove the final environmental-impact obstacle.
In return for Reid’s help, Whittemore gave tens of thousands of dollars to the senator’s political campaigns and to his “leadership fund” (which Reid used to help bankroll the campaigns of some favored fellow Democrats). In addition, Whittemore gave $5,000 to each of Reid's two sons to finance their efforts to win local political offices. Whittemore also hired one of the sons as his personal lawyer to represent him in his current and future dealings with federal officials.

Between 2001 and 2004, Reid wrote at least four letters pressing the Bush administration to take action on certain issues of importance to Indian tribes that were clients of the lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Abramoff, whose staff was in regular contact with Reid’s office, lobbied on behalf of tribes involved in the gambling casino industry. Each time Reid wrote a letter on behalf of the Indian tribes, he collected donations from Abramoff and his lobbying partners and clients around the same time period. All told, these donations totaled nearly $68,000. Also between 2001 and 2004, Reid received more than $50,000 directly from four Indian tribes that were clients of Abramoff.

Harry’s lobbyist friend Abramoff was accused of illegally giving gifts and making campaign donations to legislators in return for votes or support of legislation. He was later convicted in federal court of defrauding Indian tribes. Though Reid was a regular recipient of Abramoff's generosity, he was only nominally implicated.

In 2013 Harry’s friend Harvey Whittemore was convicted of violating federal campaign contribution laws. He was charged with four felonies and convicted on three of the counts. He was sentenced September 2013 to two years in prison and a $100,000 fine. Again, Reid was only nominally implicated.

HARRY, RORY, CLIVEN, THE COMMUNIST CHINESE AND A TURTLE...

Lately we’ve heard a lot regarding the Bureau of Land Management and armed federal agents versus Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy. As a consequence of Bundy’s steadfast refusal to give in to the government’s pressure, a light has been shined on a carefully hidden series of affairs that far overshadows the gravity of a cow possibly stepping on a turtle. As we've seen in a prior episode, Harry Reid and his family are putting his position as Senate majority Leader to extremely profitable use. But what's this got to do with a cattle rancher in Southern Nevada whose cows are stepping on turtles? Well, to start with, Cliven's last name was Bundy and not Whittemore, hence, the heavy weapons were sent by the feds.

Right now let's be clear: the desert tortoise isn’t the reason for 200 heavily-armed feds playing storm-troopers. So who and what are the cause of this attempted land grab? If Harry Reid is involved, it boils down to politics and money -- and in this case, with a generous dose of nepotism thrown in. Harry is getting on in years and has two sons to take care of ...

Okay, that explains Harry, Cliven and the turtle's role, but how do Communist China and Harry's son Rory fit in? Well, back in September 2012, it was reluctantly revealed that Harry's son Rory was the paid representative for CHINESE energy giant ENN who plans to build a $5 billion solar farm on public land in Laughlin, Nevada. Rory wasn't acting alone: Senator Reid was also an advocate for the deal. As the details unfold, it turns out Harry was a principal up to his hypocritical chin in the (choose one) 1. Manipulation; 2. Conflict of interest; 3. Use of undue influence; 4. Lying; 5. Misuse of office; 6. Breech of ethics; 7. All of the above. But bear in mind: when you’re Senate Majority Leader … well, you can pull off stunts that the average (law-abiding?) citizen couldn’t get away with in a million years.

Ostensibly, the “official reason” for the government’s interest in this land was to protect the helpless desert tortoise, which is protected under the Endangered Species Act. Just coincidentally, the public land that Cliven Bundy’s cattle have been grazing on is where the Chinese company wants to put its new solar panels. Bundy’s cows were standing in the way of huge profits (to the Chinese, to the Reid family and to Rory's attorney firm).

Now, whether it was the turtle who blew the whistle or the storm-troopers invasion, questions surrounding family ties are flaring again in Nevada around the Senate majority leader. He and his oldest son, Rory, are both involved in an effort by a Chinese energy giant, ENN Energy Group, to build a $5 billion solar farm and panel manufacturing plant in the southern Nevada desert. “Involved” in this Chinese case means there are huge profits available to high-ranking bureaucrats.

Harry Reid has been one of the ENN project's most prominent advocates, helping recruit the company during a 2011 trip to China and applying his political muscle on behalf of the project in Nevada. Rory, a lawyer with a prominent Las Vegas firm (that is representing ENN) helped it locate a 9,000-acre desert site that it is buying well below appraised value from Clark County, where Rory formerly chaired the County Commission.

To ensure there can be no suspicion of conflict of interest or unethical dealings, Rory Reid recently said, "I have never discussed the project with my father or his staff." Oh, right! And what does Harry say? A spokeswoman for the senator claimed he has not once discussed the project with his son.

We have a $5 billion project that both men are heavily involved with and they haven’t once discussed the project with one another? Oh, please!

I don't know which is most disturbing, watching the guy who hasn't even time to propose a budget for our nation spending all his time on his personal wealth, or him thinking (knowing?) that I'm too dumb to know what he's doing. Who the hell elected this guy, anyway?

Harry Reid a Bundy rustler?

This message came to me via a Michigan resident....Why in the hell have we not heard of this up to NOW!! This appears to be damning evidence of the improper actions of Senator Reid and his son Rory (Sure seems that the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree if this article has any truth attached to it)........... If it is true, why does the Nevada voting populace continue to return Harry to his elevated position....To provide Nevada with some additional benefits from the US Government....or to provide Harry and his family with something that will make them millionaires over and over. The scenario is disgusting to say the least.

 

I recall that when Harry was interviewed a couple of years ago, he was asked what he ascribed his tremendous increase in his net worth....Harry replied "Sound and outstanding investments"..... Are we, the public so dunce that we can believe this diatribe??? This should be the defining moment by our Government charging Harry with undue increase in his and his family's personal net worth through improper and deceitful dealings which only benefit him and his ilk!!!! He needs to be retired WITHOUT pension due to his improper dealings during, what I personally believe, is his entire tenure as our US Senator........I'm disgusted beyond words!!!

 

Senator Harry Ried Cattle Rustler for Communist China

This week, the Bureau of Land Management has been attempting to confiscate the cattle of Cliven Bundy, the last rancher in Nevada’s Clark County. On Wednesday, BLM agents confronted the Bundy family and supporters, using attack dogs, tasers and stun guns. Bundy’s son was tased and his daughter thrown to the ground. Three others were injured. Bundy supporters eventually drove the BLM off, but not before they had taken some cattle.

The BLM claims the cattle are “tresspassing” on land designated for the endangered desert tortoise. This designation is a red flag that something else is going on. Desert tortoises have co-existed with cattle for over 100 years and the cattle offer no threat.

 

Sure enough, as Dana Loesch reports today in a great piece of investigative journalism, Senator Harry Reid, known as “Cleanface” by the Nevada mob, and named by Judicial Watch as one of Washington’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians,” has been using the BLM to seize rangeland on behalf of campaign contributors. One of Reid’s former senior advisors, Neil Kornze, was recently appointed to lead the BLM, but he has worked there since 2011, and been de facto leader for at least a year. According to Loesch, Reid even ordered BLM to alter boundaries of tortoise habitat to allow top contributor, Harvey Whittemore, to develop the land. Yet another compassionate Democrat concerned for the environment. Good old Cleanface.

 

All other ranchers have been driven out of the county, but Bundy refuses to bend. The BLM claims Bundy owes them grazing fees dating back to 1993, however, he says his grazing rights predate the BLM, his family has used the land since the 1800s and those rights should have been grandfathered in. Contrary to BLM’s accusations, Bundy has been paying grazing fees, but to the governmental entity he believes has true title to the land: Clark County, Nevada. Loesch relates:

 

The BLM arrived much later, changed the details of the setup without consulting with Bundy — or any other rancher — and then began systematically driving out cattle and ranchers. Bundy refused to pay BLM, especially after they demanded he reduce his heard’s head count down to a level that would not sustain his ranch.

The BLM may have authority under the Taylor Grazing Act of 1934. Bundy says that “public land” belongs to the citizens, but the court claimed that “the public lands in Nevada are the property of the United States because the United States has held title to those public lands since 1848, when Mexico ceded the land to the United States.” In justifying the seizure the court stated “Bundy’s cattle have caused and continue to cause damage to natural and cultural resources and pose a threat to public safety.” It would be interesting to see the justification for that claim. What “cultural resources” exist in that open, undeveloped, remote area, and what was the damage to natural resources? Certainly not the tortoise, which they used as an excuse to close the off the land in the first place. What they really want is the land.

 

The desert tortoise is so “endangered” in this area, that the government is planning to euthanize some of them. Furthermore, the tortoise was virtually extinct before people even settled the area. Ranchers actually improved its prospects by accessing springs and developing other water sources, according to Myron Ebell, Director of the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Energy and Environment Center. But with the extreme environmentalists at the Interior Department no good deed goes unpunished, because they want the land, period.

 

The government’s agenda in this and many other land confiscation activities is actually motivated by Agenda 21′s “Rewilding” program, which advocates pushing humans out of rural areas entirely, and into densely packed urban zones. The idea was a brainchild of Dave Foreman, founder of EarthFirst! who popularized the use of tree-spiking to prevent logging. Read here how it’s working out in California. However, these environmental hypocrites have all shown their true color when these “precious lands” subsequently are sold, developed or otherwise used to benefit the politicians who fixed the deal.

 

The politicians who fixed this deal are Senator Harry Reid and his son, Rory. And they did so on behalf of the Communist Chinese who intend to build the largest solar energy complex in America. Reuters reports:

So now we get the true picture. Likely Clark County political corruption going along with this. All for the tortoise, that will doubtless become completely extinct when this massive monstrosity blankets its ground. This issue needs to be fought at every level and Harry Reid & Co. need to be brought up on charges!

 

Bundy is getting some support. Sheriff Richard Mack, founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Police Officers Association, is traveling to the ranch along with some fellow CSPOA members, and state representatives from Arizona and Nevada, as well as Nevada’s governor, Brian Sandoval, have issued criticisms.

Sandoval has taken a wait and see attitude. “Earlier this week, I advised the BLM not to limit or hinder the constitutional rights of Nevadans and be mindful of its conduct…” he said. Clearly the BLM has done neither. Will Sandoval let them get away with it? It is now clear what is happening. Will Sandoval allow this fraud to continue? Is he part of it? This is a telling moment for the Republican govenor. Will he do his job and honor his oath to “support and defend the U.S. Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic?” Right now it appears that we are dealing with enemies both foreign and domestic.

 

The legal issues on the land rights may be debatable, but the federal government’s increasingly despotic behavior toward defenseless citizens is completely without justification. Furthermore, its alleged reasoning is outrageous, given what we now know about the filthy handed, “Cleanface,” Harry Reid.

 

This is a defining issue and a defining moment in U.S. history, one that should be at the forefront of our nation’s attention today.

If you were seriously ill, would you rather have your doctor lie to you...look you in the eye and tell you what great shape you were in? Of course, your doctor wouldn’t do that mainly because it would deny you the chance to seek a cure -- quite possibly cost you your life. Also, both legally and morally he’d be violating his Hippocratic Oath.

Wouldn’t it be nice if only our president had taken a similar Oath? Instead, he has sold out his principles solely to satisfy his political ambitions. I would have never before said this of one of the fourteen presidents in my lifetime but this man doesn’t appear to have any principles. He is a liar. Oh yes, he’s good at what he does -- he's an accomplished liar. He has apparently lied all of his youthful and adult life, gotten away with it, and it appears to have served him well. It is difficult to find even ONE statement he has made to the American public in the past five years that wasn’t fabricated to some degree to suit his personal agenda.

His statements on White House transparency, Obamacare, a balanced budget, line-item veto, same-sex marriage, Race, Fast and Furious, the Benghazi slaughters, his involvement in the IRS felonies, his instructions to AG Holder with regard to the New Black Panther involvement in the election, his eagerness to unilaterally circumvent established law, would alone make Ananias blush! Just this week he focused in on the women’s vote by telling them that they are making only 77¢ an hour -- 23¢ less than men’s $1 -- this while his own government has contradicted his off-hand words with published numbers. They tell us it is only 5¢ and even that is explainable. Yet he ignores the truth and unhesitatingly lies whenever it serves his agenda. It is a shame that so many Americans swallow his words without confirmation.

I'm reminded of Germany from 1938 until 1945 when Hitler set the standard for lying. He did it so well, his army invaded Austria and just days later, on April 10th, 1938, over 97% of Austrians voted in favor of being occupied by Nazi Germany. He told them how good things were going to be under his regime. Of course, he never delivered. Too many Americans of the 21st Century remind me of those gullible Austrians.

You’re familiar with the endless array of “misspeaks” in the recent past. Only the president's toadies and grovelers seem to be immune to his blatant lying. Now the latest is how he’s blowing smoke about our non-existent economic “recovery.” He is painting a false and rosy picture for millions of innocent folks, introducing a "Twilight Zone" to his gullible disciples. Wouldn’t they rather have the opportunity to protect themselves knowing the truth? Following is the factual extent of the president's “recovery.”

• USA Today reports that Quiznos has filed for bankruptcy and could close many of its 2,100 stores. Sbarro, which operates pizza and Italian restaurants in malls, is planning to close 155 locations in the United States and Canada. That means nearly 20 percent of Sbarro's will be closing. The chain operates around 800 outlets.

• Ruby Tuesday announced plans to close 30 restaurants after its sales fell by 7.8 percent. The chain currently operates around 775 steakhouses across the U.S.

• An unknown number of Red Lobster stores will be sold. The chain is in such bad shape that the parent company, Darden Restaurants Inc., had to issue a press release stating that the chain would not close down entirely. Instead, Darden is planning to spin Red Lobster off into another company and sell some of its stores.

• Ralph's Markets, a subsidiary of Kroger, has announced plans to close 15 of its supermarkets in Southern California within 60 days. Safeway closed 72 Dominick's grocery stores in the Chicago area last year.

• Radio Shack is going to close more than a thousand of its stores. Staples is going to close 225 stores. Office Depot has seen same-store sales decline for 13 consecutive quarters. JC Penney lost $586 million dollars in the 2nd Quarter of 2013 alone. Sears has seen their sales numbers decline for nearly 7 straight years. Target is going to eliminate 475 jobs and not fill 700 additional positions that are currently empty. Aeropostale will close about 175.

The list seems endless and this is just in the retail sector. Economic weakness is widespread and growing across the entire spectrum. When will the administration tell it like it really is? Can it be that he is totally unaware of what’s going on? Wouldn’t it be comforting having a president we could trust? One whose specialty was governance, economics and foreign affairs instead of lying?

Not the same America that our fathers knew.

My heart goes out to the Soldiers and families of Fort Hood, for that matter Fort Lewis, Fort Dix or any outpost where the Government tells you you’re supposed to be safe.  I feel the shootings are just an example of what has happened to our morality.  What we now consider entertainment in the movies and the violent video games we allow our children to play.  We actually believed in God back in time and we were taught to respect him and expected to obey his word and his commandments.  We are not the same America of our fathers; we’re not even the same America that I grew up with.  It really gets my goat when I hear liberals talk gun control every time something like this happens.  When I was growing up we played cops and robbers, cowboys and Indians and all with toy guns.  When I was old enough to hold it I was given a gun and taught how to shoot it.  This was the norm back then, in hunting season most of the boys had rifles in their cars and trucks during school so they could head out as soon as the bell rang.  Kids used to bring their guns into the school metal shop to repair them.  Oh did I forget to mention, we didn’t have very many mass shootings back then, in fact I can’t remember even one.  When we got into an argument it was mano on mano with fists even though we probably had a gun in the truck.  The liberals in Hollywood who make their fortune with violence and sex in the movies and who make and design the video games that they market to the kids are the same bunch who want to take away our right to own a gun.  It’s the progressive liberals who are responsible for this generation, I just thank God most Americans have taught their children decency and respect, otherwise we would have complete anarchy and chaos.   

It seems so strange that we have such a rash of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) since Viet Nam.  We had millions men and women under arms in WWII and Korea and most came home and adjusted nicely back to civilian life.  I do honestly not doubt the reality of PTSD in today’s world; I do think however it has something to do with the lifestyle of America today.  Kids are desensitized to blood and death in movies and video games and when they are faced with it in real life and realize they are not invincible, they’re not prepared for the reality of it.  The soldiers of WWII and Korea expected the reality of war; they didn’t go into it feeling invincible.       

We’ll probably never know the real cause of this tragedy at Fort Hood but I feel better psychological training in the beginning of one’s military career might help.  It may seem gory but conditioning soldiers to the reality of war mentally with actual gory combat footage as well as physically training them to withstand the rigors of war might help.  Everyone remembers the first dead body they have seen, usually a distant relative but it doesn’t compare to the sights and sounds of combat and the terror that consumes their soul when they realize someone is trying to kill them.

A no cost jobs Bill sitting in Congress because of politics.

This resolution before Congress has no cost to the Federal Government IE the Taxpayers.  The only thing holding up this bill is politics in Washington.  It’s time to tell our Legislators to do their job.  The jobs that will be created by this legislation are needed badly and needed now. This Bill has been sponsored by both party’s and is a strictly non partisan bill.

At todays Lyon County Board of Commissioners meeting Commissioner Virgil Arellano presented the following resolution which was passed and adopted 4-0. Despite all of our efforts and broad community support ,including that of our Nevada Congressional Delegation ,Congressman Norman "Doc" Hastings of Washington State continues to obstruct the wishes of Nevadans who want to determine and shape their own course in securing our economic future in several communities and counties throughout Nevada. Enough is enough !

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF LYON COUNTY, NEVADA, REGARDING CONGRESSIONAL ACTION DEALING WITH THE LYON COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND CONSERVATION ACT S. 159 & H.R.696.
Whereas, the Lyon County Board of Commissioners in support for the City of Yerington, Nevada Copper and most importantly the residents of Lyon County unanimously passed attached Resolution 12-15 on December 6, 2012, OVER SIXTEEN MONTHS AGO;

Whereas, Lyon County continues to lead the State of Nevada in unemployment rate, averaging 15% over the last three years;

Whereas, the real number of people in the labor force in Lyon County has declined by over 2,200 people, or 9.7%, over the last two years;

Whereas, the real number of people employed in Lyon County has declined by over 1,500 people, or 7.8%, over the last two years;

Whereas, because of continued loss of tax revenues over the last seven years, the City of Yerington and Lyon County are at a critical stage in providing continued services to its residents;

Whereas, in order to balance yearly budgets and declining revenues, Lyon County has terminated 120 employees since 2008 and significantly reduced the level of service to our residents;

Whereas, local small business owners are struggling desperately to sustain continued business activities in a depressed economy;

Whereas, with the recent escalation of violent crime and theft within Lyon County and with declining county revenues, staffing for local law enforcement that is charged with protecting and serving our citizens will be severely jeopardized;

Whereas, Nevada Copper has implemented educational incentives and opportunities to local residents and students within the Lyon County educational system to secure future employment in the mining industry;

Whereas, an overwhelming majority of Lyon County residents support the passage of the Yerington, Nevada/Lyon County bill;

Whereas, the Nevada Congressional Delegation fully supports this legislation;
Whereas,the 2013 Nevada State Legislature fully supports this legislation;

Whereas ,Governor Brian Sandoval supports this legislation;

Whereas, the United States Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee reported S. 159 out of committee on June 18, 2013 with a favorable recommendation to PASS THE BILL;

Whereas, the United States House Natural Resources Committee reported H.R. 696, as Title II of H.R. 433, out of committee on January 28, 2013, without changes to the economic development portion of the bill, with a favorable recommendation to PASS THE BILL;

Whereas, immediate passage of the Yerington/Lyon County bill would create substantial economic activity within the City of Yerington and Lyon County that will assist in building a long term viable prosperous economy after years of revenue deficts and economic drought.

NOW, THEREFORE, based on the foregoing, and in accordance with the best interests of the citizens of Lyon County, the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS does:

Recall that Hillary Clinton did her college thesis on his writings, and our President Obama writes about him in his books. 

Saul Alinsky died about 43 years ago, but his writings influenced those in political control of our nation today....... 

Saul David Alinsky, a writer, was an American community organizer and writer. He is generally considered to be the founder of the modern community organizing movement.  He is most noted for his book, Rules for Radicals.

How to create a social state by Saul Alinsky:

There are eight levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state. The first is the most important.

1) Healthcare– Control healthcare and you control the people

2) Poverty – Increase the poverty level as high as possible. Poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.

3) Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.

4) Gun Control– Remove the ability to defend themselves from the government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5) Welfare – Take control of every aspect of their lives (food, housing, and income)

6) Education – Take control of what people read and listen to. Take control of what children learn in school.

7) Religion – Remove the belief in the God from the government and the schools.

8) Class Warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more             discontent, and it will be easier to take (to tax) the wealthy, with the support of the poor.

This is just what is happening to us here in the United States.
Alinsky merely simplified Vladimir Lenin's original scheme for world conquest by communism, under the Russian rule.  And Stalin described his converts to communism, as "Useful Idiots." Note that the Useful Idiots have destroyed every nation in which they have seized power and control. It is presently happening at an alarming rate in the U.S.    It is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere.

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?                

      "You've got to be kidding!!!"

       Between now and the election in November I’m going to regularly remind all my friends and readers of some straightforward facts.  But right now, I'm going to ask the most important question you’ll possibly face in your lifetime.  It's a simple survey. Choose just ONE.

                          Above all else, I consider myself:

                                                                                                     (A)  A DEMOCRAT
                                                                                       (B)  A REPUBLICAN
                                                                                       (C)  AN AMERICAN 

 

     Chosen your answer? Okay, this will be a self-grader (no one will ever see what you consider yourself). If you answered (A) or (B) you can stop reading, get on with your life and have a nice day.  But if you answered (C), read on and think about the following as though your kids’ and grandkids’ lives depended on it. Factually, it does … at least the quality of their lives. 

      If you chose (C), you join me as an independent thinker … as someone who doesn’t give knee-jerk support to a candidate merely because he calls himself Republican or Democrat or Libertarian or Bull Moose (what progressives called themselves from 1912 to 1916). It is frightening how many people have begun following a partisan line and an astonishing number of young voters preach individualism, then turn right around and join single-minded groups in demonstrating (i.e., “occupiers,” etc.). 

     This would be a good place to digress briefly and explain a psychological axiom named “the normalcy bias.” To put this briefly, it means that people are “biased” toward the way things are or have been in the past. They are unwilling to accept change – especially of a negative nature. We’ve had our share of those over the recent past but folks tend to say, “Not to worry -- the government will fix things. They won’t get worse.”

     But they have been getting much worse, to the point the government is powerless to fix them. We’ve put all our eggs in a basket with a straw bottom.

     Making today’s matters worse, most voters belong to a partisan clique called either “Democrat” or “Republican.” The names should be “No Brainer Party A” and “No Brainer Party B” but actually it’s easier for them -- they don’t have to think for themselves. These elite fraternities (AKA “parties”) do much of their thinking for them.  Through repetitious training, they become like Pavlov’s dogs: once these loyal disciples see  an “R” or a “D” on a ballot it’s good enough for them. The conditioned response kicks in. The only difference between them and Pavlov's pups is, they stamp an X rather than salivating on the ballot or voting machine.

      But the most unyielding form of “Pavlovian Syndrome” has fixed itself onto certain young Democrat voters. Back in my youth, we prided ourselves on being independent in our thinking and our actions. Today’s youth talks that same – or even stronger – degree of independence, then rush headlong as a group to do the bidding of someone they know absolutely nothing about.

     How else would someone like Hillary Clinton take the lead for the 2016 Democrat ballot? If a child is old enough to read, he or she can quickly vet this woman since she came on the scene in 1969 with her written support of Marxism and socialist leanings. One fact alone that should be sufficiently condemning, Ms Clinton (then Rodham) was a supporter of Saul Alinsky, first while attending Wellesley College where she wrote a 97 page Senior Thesis devoted to Alinsky. Upon graduation, Alinsky – stirring revolution, preaching Marxism, blatantly seeking power -- offered her an executive position at one of his “schools.” She was the type of believer he sought to sound his Reveille for Radicals.

     Radicalism? Marxism? Power? Wealth? Revolution? All of these titles swirl around Hillary Clinton like dust devils. What are her real credentials? She has never run a city, county, or state during her "career" of being Bill Clinton's wife.  She served 8 years as a New York Senator but was unable to find co-sponsors across the aisle for ANY of her legislation.  She often talks about “sponsoring,” “introducing” and “fighting for” legislation. In the Senate, that's the JOB. None of her legislation ever passed.  In the Senate, that’s FAILURE!  

     Hillary also served as Secretary of State for President Obama.  During her term, relationships failed to improve with Russia, Israel, North Korea, Venezuela, nor any of the Mid Eastern countries. Benghazi was a tragic and mishandled farce. Her stint at the helm of the ship of State was an overall catastrophe. Yet, she is currently leading the pack for the Democrat nominee?  WHY in God’s name? WHY in anyone's name?

       We are talking about a former Secretary of State who did absolutely nothing to prevent nor later avenge the murder of our Ambassador Chris Stevens in Benghazi. Oh yes, she always shouts a good story and learned from Bill how to shake a finger, but the whole bunch of terrorist murderers are still roaming free. None of them have even been questioned. She screamed at Congress that it doesn’t matter but hasn’t even raised her voice to the actual Benghazi terrorists. How would you act if you were in charge of a group that was violated and slaughtered in part because you had failed to act? She reacted in her predictable manner -- ducked under her desk by resigning, later shouted at the questioning members of Congress. Hey, lady, it wasn't their doing! Why can't a Clinton say, "Mea culpa"? God knows, it's something they should learn. Honesty should follow.

     Hillary Rodham Clinton claims sufficient experience to be president because she spent 8 years in the White House. So has the pastry chef. God help us if she somehow is given the most important political position in the world! If push comes to shove, I'll cast my vote for the pastry chef.

      That said, let’s close with a word of the two main Washington “fraternities,” the Republicans and Democrats. It’s easy to see that the two are no longer tied to progress, liberalism or conservatism. They are basically tied to power and wealth.  Totally for themselves, of course.

      Would voters be so brand-loyal if these people were called Powercrats and Wealthicans? Hypocrats and Comedicans? What would the “party loyalists” do if we were to suddenly changed the party names? Would they be forced to investigate the candidates themselves? Would they even know where to begin? Do they actually believe they're progressive, liberal, or conservative? They should try being devoted Americans for a change instead of  meaningless political hacks with a rubber stamp in place of a brain.

    To those of you who are supporting an unqualified, inexperienced and inept candidate for the next president of the U.S.:  If you feel you owe Ms. Clinton for all she had to put up with while married to a philanderer, send her some salt peter for his coffee or a buck or two towards therapy. But for cryin' out loud, don't saddle the American people with another untested, power hungry, professional politician. In the coming weeks I'll give you a truck-load of reasons why Ms. Clinton would be a disaster. Real, honest-injun, factual, provable reasons ... not the usual political B.S. emanating from Washington.

What happened to our wonderful country?

Who feels safe in this new world we are sharing?  As we stumble along in this American Utopia created by the liberal establishment, so many are oblivious to the changes taking place before our very eyes.  When was the last time you felt safe letting your kids out to play from dusk to dark, allowing their imaginations to develop as children should be able to?  When was the last time you boarded a plane and didn’t find yourself scanning the crowd for possible terrorists?  When was the last time you felt it was safe giving a hitch hiker a ride?  Did you ever consider the fact that you’d be invited to a same sex marriage in your lifetime?  Do you feel totally safe at the mall or are you constantly looking at others wondering what they are thinking? 

Once upon a time America was considered the strongest country a fortunate citizen could be part of and the greatest ally another country could be aligned with.   The people who were coming here were coming to become part of our wonderful mixing pot of diversity,  it give you a sense of pride to be part of it all.  Now many of these emigrants are from the Middle East and are sheltering themselves in ghetto’s making their area into the same 16^th century chaos as they left.  They’ve built enclaves in various cities that are beginning to look like typical Middle East cities.  They operate under the laws of Sharia & principles they supposedly came here to escape from.   They are not becoming Americanized living like this, rather than joining hands to build America even stronger they are divided from the American dream.   

The emigrant problem with Mexico is a different monster all together.  I believe that rather than allowing illegal’s to just assume our rights they should be given temporary work visa’s if they can prove they have a potential job paying at least minimum wage and they should report once a quarter to authorities to show they are still working.  They should not avail themselves of our welfare, or any other government assistance while here and it does not give them the right to bring family or others with them.  The anchor baby rule should be scrapped.  Even an American moving to Australia has to show they have enough money to survive for over 6 months.  Those who come here for work should be required to pay a portion of their income to the government to support the immigration agency that would control their movement.  If they fail to report a warrant should be issued to remove them from our country without possibility of returning.  Any gang affiliation would be instant deportation.  This in no way should affect the Farm Labor programs that are necessary for the success of our agriculture industry.  We need to close our border to the south with soldiers if necessary and use force just as it would be in any other nation’s border.  The illegal’s that are here should be evaluated for crime, welfare and any other social service not intended for illegal’s.  If they are steadily employed and have no criminal record they should be given green cards but not citizenship.  If they have been here for 10 or more years and have no major scrapes with the law they should be allowed to petition like any other alien for citizenship waiting for quota’s just like our parents and grandparents did. 

Emigrants are who built America and we cannot in good faith just stop all emigration, it just has to be controlled and legal.

A letter from the Ukraine

Subj:  Ukraine - A good, private letter on the situation

This  is not at STRATFOR report but a letter from a retired US Army colonel who is working in   Ukraine.  Most informative.

One of my Ukrainian colleagues  asked me if I was informing my friends back home about the situation here. I  admitted that I've only talked to my wife much about it and he accepted  that. I got to thinking and decided that I've been  delinquent.

I came here in 2005 on a contract to help build a professional corps of NCOs for the Ukrainian Army. It was a dismal failure. The military budget couldn't support building the kind of  NCO corps the US Army has. Ukraine just doesn't have the budget for the personnel and training changes that are necessary . also, ss a result of many years of European and Soviet style military doctrine, the junior leaders are officers. NCOs are just technicians. That's worked for them for a couple centuries. The current mid grade officers recognized that this wasn't the most efficient way of leadership, but they just can't convince the civilians to put enough in the budget to professionalize the force.  Conscription stopped this year, but they are a long way from developing a small, professional army.

 I left Ukraine and went back to Iraq, then Germany, then Afghanistan. I came back to Ukraine when I got the opportunity to work at one of the  few diamonds in the rough that I'd seen in Ukraine on my earlier contract. I'm now a NATO procedures instructor at the Ukrainian Land Forces Academy, their version of West Point.  

 During my last 3 years here now, I've met and worked with several Ukrainian mid-grade (major through colonel) and junior grade (lieutenant and captain) officers.  Plus a few hundred cadets. I've made friends, a couple enemies, and a lot of good colleagues.  I've met local civilians and have eaten in some fantastic cafes. I enjoy living in Lviv, here in western Ukraine. It has a history that goes back a couple thousand years and is rich in a culture that even Soviet occupation for 50 years could not destroy.

 Ukrainians are almost as much of a mixed culture as is the USA. There are leftists, rightists, centerists, and a few idiots. There is a small but vocal group that bears resemblance to the Nazi Party in Germany in 1939. There are human rights activists, well educated professionals, business entrepreneurs, and criminals. Just like  home. What amazed me, however, was  the level of corruption.  I expected it, after having worked in former socialist countries before, and have seen what happens when you toss out the communists.  

 The only groups ready to replace  the com munists ... the only groups with an formal/semi-formal  hierarchy, organization, chains of command, resource procurement procedures, etc... the only groups immediately available... are the crooks and criminal  organizations.   What usually happens is the crooks make their way into government positions, both elected and appointed, and just raise the level of their operations to a national level. The people usually get tired of it, and either vote them out, or kick their asses out. Once they do, the only groups ready to move back in and take charge are.... the old communists! They'll have a new name, but old styles. So the folks kick them out and the damned crooks come back in... usually with less power.

 Ukraine has gone through these cycles. There is no civil service system here . When a new political party takes charge, everyone who works for the government expects to lose their job. Teachers, civil works technicians, cops, secretaries, postal workers, etc. If they don't offer a bribe to their new politically appointed boss, they will lose their paycheck.

 Cops are a special thing . No city cops, no state cops, just the national police. and they get paid MUCH less than minimum wage. A cop does not chase criminals, he chases his boss's political opponents . A traffic cop does not enforce traffic laws, he fights to get assigned to a check point on a good street so he can stop new cars and extort money from the driver (obviously well off...   he's driving a new car) using some trumped up charge. I've been stopped many  times. They want me to blow into a fake breathalyzer so they can charge me  with DUI. I was stopped once and they asked for my ID and drivers license. I unbuckled my seat belt to get to my wallet. The cop looked at my license and then wanted to charge me with not wearing my seatbelt. Normal Ukrainians  normally pay the cop somewhere between $12 to $20 to get on their way. I show my US passport and start dialing the embassy on my cell phone. They usually let me go.

 Businesses are extorted by officers attempting to enforce unwritten city codes. Driving schools don't teach kids to drive, the kids can buy a license for $50 and walk out the same day  they enrolled in the course. everything is like that.

 When I got here I was just flat amazed how deep the corruption was . My translator asked me how I would handle such a situation back in south Texas. I told him we had enforceable laws, much more accountability of officials ... and as a last resort, the .45 on my hip and  the AR-15 in my bedroom gun cabinet. He sighed.... said we have none of that. We can't make changes.

 Well folks. Ukrainians stood up on their hind legs these last few months, and they fought back against the crooks... and they won! More than one hundred of them died doing it. It'll take the new folks in government to change what they had. It's hard changing a nation, a culture of corruption, a business environment that doesn't know how to enforce contract law. But they want to give it a chance.

 And now, Vladimir Putin has decided that he can't  allow the new Ukraines to succeed. Because if they do, Russians might  decide to get rid of the criminals who are the Russian Mafia, and the people  like Putin who are trying to rebuild ... not the Soviet Union ... but the old Russian Empire . There are good geo-political reasons for him to desire that., but it comes at the cost of Ukrainian freedoms to chose.  

 The US will not, maybe cannot jump in here  and oppose the Russians militarily (the US has zero tanks left in Germany , folks). The Germans, Brits, French, etc don't have the forces to do it either. Nor the political will. So a NATO military option is out of the  question. The Ukrainian military is too small, too under-resourced, and too  tied to old Soviet style doctrine to go it alone .  

 So, what is left?

 That will be up to President  Obama, the British Prime Minister, Ban-Ki-Moon at the UN, and, believe it or not, the people and prime minister of Turkey. The Poles might go up against  the Russians. They've done it before. Polish military history is pretty brave. They've been outclassed and outmatched, but no one can ever accuse  them of cowardice. If the Russians try to take western Ukraine, the Poles might surprise everyone.

 I support what the Ukrainians are trying to do. I can't do much about it, except teach my cadets. Because of  the semi-official position I work in, I can't do much more. If it gets too dangerous out here in western Ukraine, I’ll have to go home. If it gets too politically strenuous for the US, the State Department might order us to go home. I'm not impressed with John Kerry whining that Putin doesn't respond to our super-civilized new world society. He is "stunned" that Mr Putin acted in the same old way that Russians have always reacted. By force. By making your enemies fear you. By  taking action, not talking. I'm amazed that anyone with a clue really thinks  that this 21st century is going to be much different than the 19th century. History shows us otherwise. Every Damned Time.

 So, I've made my conscience easier by writing this. The old Ukrainian colleague who asked if I had written my friends is a retired colonel.  A full professor.   And he is itching to put his uniform back on and go defend Ukraine against the Russians.  Against a force a hundred times bigger.   He has a beautiful, thirteen year  old daughter.  Who wants to be a ballerina.  And he wants her to  have the opportunity to do it in a free, law-abiding, free-enterprise nation.  And he's willing to go up against the Russian Bear to do it.  

 I just wanted you to  know.

 

Why are we allowing failure to consume America

From the very beginning this Presidency has been headed for failure.  Whether it's being brought down on purpose or just through sheer incompetence is for each of us to decide.  Either way we have to bring control back to the people if we are to survive.   Our debt crisis is just a tickle in the throat compared to what's ahead.  The loss of stature among our allies and the lack of fear among our adversaries has created a deep fracture in our domestic politics.  The scandals that have gone unanswered along with the bullying of business through un-necessary regulation by Federal agencies will eventually bring us a much deeper recession then previously seen in this country.  It is important to understand that without complete trust in our government the people of America will never come together as one again.  It's time for the politics to be set aside and the peoples voices be heard.  Our representatives seem to be blind and deaf to the destruction of our Constitution and are watching it be shredded without a whimper of protest.      

Those who have decided to partake of the free government cheese will never again feel the thrill of achievement until they shed the shackles of dependency that comes with Big Brothers help.  When you have a population that is uneducated in the true story of the United States and the suffering that went into the building of America it is hard for them to understand what is happening to our country and why it is so bad.  We need change and we need it now, if our Legislature is too engrossed in their personal wealth accumulation to stand up to the administrations power grab it's time for the people to start campaigning and demanding this weakling Senate, Congress and Judicial bodies to step aside.  The people are the power but only with knowledge can they accomplish anything significant.
